The Charité BIH Entrepreneurship Summit on 11th May shares and explores the most important discoveries and emerging trends influencing entrepreneurship in healthcare around the world.
Each year there is a partner country – this year, Scotland and its innovation ecosystem – and is attracting over 1,000 key opinion leaders, innovation experts, entrepreneurs and investors from around the world.
Jackie Waring, Founder and CEO of AccelerateHER, will be joining the Post-Covid Investment Strategies Panel at the Entrepreneurial Summit, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs that were faced in the last year and provide an outlook for both sides to adapt to future conditions.
Also representing Scotland are key speakers, academics and companies, including Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director of Scotland; Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, Regius Professor of Medicine at the University of Glasgow and leader for the Lighthouse Labs, Professor Nick Mills, Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh.
On 12th May, the cohort will attend the online ‘Bionnale 2021’, the biggest networking event for life sciences and healthcare industries in the German capital region. Representatives from academia and industry attend the annual life sciences event in Berlin to identify, engage and start strategic relationships.
The AccelerateHER cohort attending with the Scottish delegation include Ishani Malhotra, Carcinotech; Kate Cameron, Cytochroma; Claudia Freigang, Hearing Diagnostics; Caroline Laurenson, TL Techsmart; Lisa Pape, Walk With Path and Prof Rebecca Goss, Xgenix. These female founded companies are attending Bionnale and presenting at its LifeSciences VentureMarket (LSVM). Also attending are Lina Gasiūnaitė, Biotangents and Dr Carla Brown, Game Doctor.
Jackie Waring, said:
“We are thrilled to be part of Scotland’s partnership with Charité BIH Entrepreneurship Summit, working closely with the Scottish Government. It has been so exciting to see this important international partnership grow since our first AccelerateHER and Investing Women mission to Berlin two years ago.
“Scotland’s track record as a pioneer of medical research is impressive and the impressive female founders we have with us at the summit represent the top end of such innovation in Scotland. This is a tremendous opportunity for building international trade and connections for Scotland, so important for the growth of our economy.”
